Fern Way Farm & Forest Programs

Fern Way Farm & Forest is an open-hearted educational community that values our relationship with Earth and with each other. Our programs connect youth and adults to the forest and the farm through land-based inclusive programming, college internships, Pre K-12 school year field trips, and summer camps.

Fern Way programs are located on 600 acres of forested,

expansive land belonging to Christmount.

Open to the public as a "place for all

to discover community, acceptance, and purpose."

Fern Way Philosophy

Fern Way Farm and Forest programs focus on care of the earth and sustainability. Participants in our programs may experience organic gardening practices including planting, nurturing, harvesting, and meal preparation.

Participants may also experience bio-dynamic composting, animal care, erosion control practices, and regenerative farming techniques. We may also spend time in citizen science projects learning about stormwater management, micro-grid solar projects, native plant species, and freshwater creek ecology.

At Fern Way, we believe everyone should have access to clean air, clean water, food that truly nourishes our bodies and the hands that grow it, as well as beautiful places to tend, know, and explore.

With this in mind, we work hard to provide scholarship assistance as needed. We encourage folks to request partial scholarships and we encourage folks to make additional donations to support the scholarship fund as they are able.

We will never turn anyone away because of cost.

We are excited to welcome you to this place

and we look forward to working with you, your group or your family!
